As I mentioned in my previous post, I have been scouting for a reasonably-priced school bag for my son who is already in Grade 6. And one of the things I learned from experience, it is easier to buy school supplies after the classes starts because one, most parents are already finished with their shopping so the stores are no longer that crowded, and two, most of the items are already on sale because most stores are just hoping to sell-off most of their stocks. So I usually buy the most expensive things my son would need lasts (particularly shoes and school bags). We bought him his black shoes the weekend before their classes starts. Fortunately, their classes usually starts late than other schools so by then, malls are usually on sale already. So when we bought him his shoes, the stores are no longer that crowded so we can have the luxury of time to browse and choose the shoe that he would want. Since he started school, I always buy him Florsheim shoes because I had noticed that its price is not really that expensive compared to other locally-made black school shoes plus the fact that its durability would assure me that his shoes would lasts for the whole school year. For this year, he chose a shiny one similar to what his dad has been using for office. I feel so elated that at his age, my son somehow has a sense of style of his own though somehow it seems he has been eyeing his father's style as his guide. It is already on sale (at 20%) so we were able to buy it for a little less than 2 thousand pesos.
For his school bag, luckily I chanced upon a Hawk stroller bag that is on sale so I was able to buy it for P1599 only. It has ample space that could fit a long-sized folder (which is a must have in school these days), it has lots of pockets and compartment, it comes with a nice water bottle, it has a rain protector, and my kid loves it because he says it doesnt have any cartoon character on it..hahaha!
